Understanding Your Bill

- Account Information
Customer name, telephone and account number.
- Remit Payment Stub
- Payment due date and any important monthly messages to our customers.
- Previous Balance
The amount on last month’s statement which reflects any payments and/or adjustments made.

- Total Due
The total due includes the current billing amount and any previous balance due.
- Your Long Distance Carrier

- Services
The products and services you currently subscribe to. These charges are billed one month in advance.
- Federal Tax
The federal tax is a three percent tax mandated by the federal government. It is imposed on all telecommunications services, including local, long distance and wireless bills.
- State/City Tax and Franchise Fees
These charges are imposed by state, local and municipal governments on all services. It may also appear as a “gross receipts” tax in some states.
- Other Fees and Charges
· 911 – This charge is imposed by local governments to help pay for emergency services such as fire and rescue.
· (Federal) Subscriber Line Charge – is a charge proposed and authorized by the FCC , for providing access to and maintenance of the local network.
· Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) – supports the telecommunications needs of consumers living in high-cost areas, low-income households, schools, libraries, and rural healthcare providers.
· ND TRS Surcharge - Telecommunications Relay Services Charge – this state charge helps to pay for the relay center that transmits and translates calls for hearing-impaired and speech-impaired people.
- TV Service
If a customer subscribes to Dakota Central TV service and has chosen to lease additional set-top boxes the fees and taxes will appear in this section.
